Sound Transit

Break a Mindless Habit

Agency: Copacino Fujikado

Description

We all know about the mind-numbing slog of getting from point A to B in our cars, especially when commuting. Sometimes, the drudgery of it can almost make you feel like a zombie.

That feeling is captured in the vivid and hilarious new campaign for the Puget Sound region (WA) public transit system Sound Transit, created by Seattle-based Copacino Fujikado, which presents commuters with an alternative that can make them feel a bit more…human.

Encouraging riders to “break a mindless habit,” the campaign envisions spooky-and-all-too-familar commuter scenarios including how high gas prices can drain your soul and parking tickets that are truly the dawn of the dread. And while most of us aren’t part of the undead community, we too feel their pain in the ads as they rot through traffic.

“We’ve all seen them,” said Vince Soliven, Executive Creative Director at Copacino Fujikado. “Heck, we ARE them. Zombies in traffic, dead-eyed behind the wheel, crawling through the same soul-sucking commute. But here’s the plot twist: there’s a cure—Sound Transit. This campaign holds up a mirror and says: You don’t have to live the undead life.”

"We love that Copacino Fujikado recognizes that Sound Transit offers people a great alternative to driving," said Tim Healy, Sound Transit Marketing Director. "Though ridership is up on most of our services options, we want to spread the word that public transit is, well, a no brainer. "

The work includes 15-second, 30-second and social spots, and will launch on May 7.
