Apple unveils a new campaign for iPhone 16 Pro's Cinematic Slow Motion feature

Apple showcases the magic of Cinematic Slow Motion, a new camera feature on iPhone 16 Pro, with an action-packed spot. Shot entirely on the device in 4K 120 fps, the film was directed by Emmy-award winning director David Shane. The film revisits two fan-favourite detectives from the launch of Cinematic Mode on iPhone 13 Pro, this time in a humorous and explosive sequel.

Playing with the classic 'walk away from explosion' action movie trope, two detectives engage in a meta-commentary about their own slow-motion walk. One embraces the dramatic moment while the other breaks character by questioning the timing and flinching at the explosions.

The new Cinematic Slow Motion capability in the iPhone 16 Pro captures every fiery detail with exceptional clarity, from the explosive effects to the detectives’ comedic timing. Users can fine-tune these sequences after capture in the Photos app, with precise control over timing, speed ramping and stabilisation—proving once again that Hollywood-worthy filmmaking is within reach.

The film is set to appear across broadcast, YouTube and online video.
